About Us
How was Piera's born?
Hi! I’m Veronica Piera Testa, the founder and owner of Piera’s. My journey began in 2013 when I moved from Argentina to Miami. As a true food lover, I deeply missed the flavors of home—especially the cakes and baked goods that I couldn’t find here or I didn’t think tasted the same. 🇦🇷
So, I started baking. At first, it was just for myself, recreating the treats I longed for. Then, I shared them with friends and family, and to my surprise, they loved them!
They encouraged me to start selling my bakes, and in January 2020, I took a leap of faith and launched Piera’s.
For two wonderful years, I poured my heart into Piera’s. Then, life took a beautiful turn—I became a mom.
When my son, Ben, was born, I decided to pause my business and dedicate myself fully to motherhood. But as he grew, so did my passion for baking. Once he started preschool, I knew it was time to bring Piera’s back. In February 2024, we relaunched—this time, with a team of cooks, a bigger vision, and a menu that now includes both sweet and savory homemade bakes.
Every bite is made with fresh, simple ingredients and the same love that started it all in my kitchen. Piera’s is a reflection of me—a mom who discovered her love for baking through experimenting and now shares that passion with her son and with all of you.
WHY PIERA'S?
My middle name, Piera, comes from my great-grandmother, La Nonna Piera. Though I never had the chance to meet her—she passed away just eight days before I was born—her love for food has lived on in our family.
Every woman in my family shares this passion. Even today, at 100 years old, my grandmother, La Nonnina, still delights us with her cooking whenever we visit her in Bergamo, Italy.
That’s why the name Piera’s felt so right when I discovered my own love for baking. It’s more than just a name—it’s a tribute to family, tradition, and the joy of sharing good food.
